FIAP BIENNIALS

FIAP organises Biennial exhibitions of colour and monochrome prints; colour slides; nature photography; youth photography and audio-visual programmes. These Biennials are exhibitions where member countries can show their photographers' best work. A competition for a World Cup is run as part of each event. The Biennials take place in different countries and are major events, with 500 to 600 photographs exhibited.

The medium to be used in any one Biennial is predetermined by FIAP in the following categories; Colour Prints / Mono Prints / PDI's / Natural History. The subject matter for each federation is determined by the individual federation. e.g. "Landscapes of England"

Each Operational Member is responsible for submitting entries to these competitions and in the case of PAGB this is devolved to the FIAP Sub-Committee, chaired by the FIAP Liaison Officer. Entries are submitted by not only PAGB but also by Scotland and Wales.

FIAP CLUBS' WORLD CUP

In 2006 FIAP introduce the FIAP Club's World Cup, and it has been organised each year ever since.  This is a PDI competition and is open to individual clubs World Wide; national associations may not enter.  Entering Clubs are required to submit 20 images from at least five authors.

In the first five years it has been won by a club from a different country on each occasion. Clubs from the PAGB have been well represented from the competition’s inception and in fact the winners in the first year were Wigan 10 from the L&CPU.

The 6th FIAP Club's World cup was held in 2011 and the results are now to hand and it is pleasing to see that once again Wigan 10 featured well, being placed third and winning a FIAP Silver Medal as well as the 2nd "Maurice Dorikens" Trophy for the period 2007-2011. Individually Phil Charnock is to congratulated for receiving a Judging Choice Award. Details of the results can be found in the below downloadable PDF file:-
