PAGB Patronage for Exhibitions & Events
The detailed conditions and Regulations in respect of Patronage are
given in the PAGB Handbook. However, it may be of help to briefly outline
the objects of the system of Patronage and to indicate the type and
standard of the event or exhibition which will merit the award. It is
intended that the award of Patronage be considered for Exhibitions of an
Open, National or Regional character being events of some standing which
are not eligible for other forms of patronage. The award may also be
given to Federationsí own Exhibitions. In addition it may also be given
to specific events which are of an occasional yet major nature, for
example a 50th or 75th Anniversary of a Federation.
If you are proposing an event and wish to seek the Patronage of the PAGB
please consider the Conditions and Regulations carefully. If in doubt
approach your own Federationís Photographic Alliance member of the
Executive.
The procedure to be followed is quite straight forward, the initial
application must be made to your own Federation. The Alliance will only
consider a direct approach where no single Federation is involved. Your
Federation will process the application as quickly as possible and if
satisfied the event is one which warrants PAGB Patronage, will endorse
the application and submit it to the Alliance for final approval.
Please bear in mind that Patronage is a privilege; it will not be granted
automatically. It is the firm intention of the Alliance to ensure that
only events deserving of Patronage receive the award. On acceptance the
organisers will be permitted to show on all entry forms, advertisement,
etc, that Patronage has been granted. The Alliance will then allow the
applicant to purchase appropriate Medals for award at the event or
exhibition.
Note: from 1st January 2008, the cost of each Medal will
be £11.00, and each Ribbon £1.00. Further details can be found in
the PAGB Patronage Guidance and Application form (see below).
